Bolano is a hill village at 300 metres overlooking the Magra valley on the border with Tuscany, with its medieval core up high and newer districts that have grown down towards the Ceparana plain.
It is mostly a residential place, with a few pizzerias and trattorias. The patron saint is Saint Peter, celebrated on 29 June.
