Vezzano Ligure is made up of two medieval villages, Vezzano Alto and Vezzano Basso, perched on a hill between the Gulf of La Spezia and the Magra valley. From the top you can see both the sea and the point where the Vara flows into the Magra, one of the widest views in the area.
Lower down, towards the plain, the newer hamlets have grown up. There are a few trattorias, a hotel and some rooms; the main feast is the Assumption, on 15 August.
