Follo is a municipality of scattered hamlets between the Vara valley, the Gulf of La Spezia and the Magra plain, which has grown as a residential area a few kilometres from the city. Part of its territory lies within the Montemarcello-Magra-Vara nature park, along the river.
There are trattorias and pizzerias. The patron saint is Saint Martin, celebrated on 11 November.
