Albissola Marina

Albissola Marina is the seaside sister of Albisola Superiore and, like it, has lived on ceramics for centuries. The finest walk is the Lungomare degli Artisti, paved in 1963 with a huge mosaic designed by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Asger Jorn and Wifredo Lam, who worked in the local kilns.

Don’t miss Asger Jorn’s house museum, the 18th-century Villa Faraggiana and the Mazzotti ceramics museum, set in the family’s historic factory. The beaches are just steps from the centre.
