Dego

Dego is a village in the Bormida valley, along the road that runs from Cairo Montenotte down towards Piedmont, at 317 metres. Napoleon passed this way too: in April 1796 French and Austrian troops fought at Dego in one of the first battles of the Italian campaign.

Today it is a quiet place, with a hotel and a few rooms to rent, handy for exploring the valley.
