Bormida is a scattered municipality in the upper Bormida valley, at almost 500 metres, made up of small hamlets among woods and meadows; the town hall is in the one called Chiesa. About three hundred people live here, and a few years ago the village made headlines with the idea of offering incentives to people willing to move in.

It is a place of woods and silence, with a couple of trattorias serving local food and a few rooms. One of its curiosities is the Funtana da Regina fountain.
