Dolcedo is a municipality of scattered hamlets in the Prino valley, seven kilometres from Imperia. The town hall is in the one called Piazza, on the valley floor, crossed by the stream and by old stone bridges, the best known being the Ponte Grande.

For centuries the valley lived on olive oil, and old mills can still be seen along the stream. The area also has a museum of the Resistance and several agriturismo farm stays among the olive trees.
