Perinaldo

Perinaldo, at almost 600 metres above Bordighera, is the home village of Giovanni Domenico Cassini, the astronomer who directed the Paris Observatory in the 17th century. His memory is everywhere: there is the Cassini museum, an astronomical observatory open to the public, and the village is one of the Borghi più belli d’Italia.

The viewpoints look out to the sea on one side and the Maritime Alps on the other. If it is in season, try the Perinaldo artichoke, a local variety.
