Campomorone lies in the upper Polcevera valley, a few kilometres from Genoa, where the valley starts climbing towards the Apennine passes. For a town of its size it has some unusual museums: one of palaeontology and mineralogy, one of marionettes and one devoted to the history of the Red Cross.
From the Bric Nasciu you can see the valley all the way to the sea. There are trattorias, pizzerias and a couple of rooms to rent.
