Favale di Malvaro

Favale di Malvaro is a small village in the upper Fontanabuona valley, at 320 metres, from which many emigrants left for the Americas. Among them was the family of Amadeo Peter Giannini, founder of the Bank of America: the family house is now the Emigrant’s Museum.

The hamlet of Monteghirfo also has an ethnographic museum on rural life in the valley. There is a mountain hut for the night.
