Province of Genoa

Sant'Olcese

Sant’Olcese is a municipality of scattered hamlets on the hills just north of Genoa, famous for its salami, one of the few traditional cured meats of Liguria, fragrant and coarse-grained. In the hamlet of Comago lies the park of Villa Serra, with its little lake and English-style gardens.

On the ridge above stands Forte Diamante, one of Genoa’s forts, reached on foot by a fine walk. There are plenty of trattorias in the area.
