San Colombano Certenoli is the largest municipality in the Fontanabuona valley, behind Chiavari, and takes its name from two of its hamlets, San Colombano and Certenoli; the town hall is at Aveggio. It is made up of many small villages scattered between the valley floor and the hills.
There are a couple of trattorias with local cooking. The patron saint is Saint Columbanus, celebrated on 23 November.
