Casarza Ligure lies in the Petronio valley behind Sestri Levante, a few minutes from the beaches of the Baia del Silenzio. It is a residential town that grew up on the plain, with hamlets scattered on the surrounding hills.
There are several rooms, a hotel and a mountain hut; the Picco Merli offers a fine view. The patron saint is Saint Monica, celebrated on 27 August.
