The seafront, Villa Durazzo and the coast road to Paraggi and Portofino.
Santa Margherita Ligure is Portofino’s elegant sister: a palm-lined seafront with early 20th-century hotels, a harbour where fishing boats and sailing yachts tie up, and a lively centre of shops and cafés. Above the harbour, Villa Durazzo opens its rooms and its park overlooking the gulf to visitors.
From here a narrow and beautiful coastal road leads in a few kilometres to Paraggi and Portofino, passing below the Cervara abbey. The Baroque basilica of Santa Margherita is just a short walk from the sea.
