Uscio sits at 360 metres on the hills between the Golfo Paradiso and the Fontanabuona valley, and is the village of tower clocks: the Trebino firm has been making them here since the 19th century, and the Roberto Trebino museum tells their story with mechanisms from every era.
In the early 20th century Uscio became known for the Colonia Arnaldi, a natural health resort. There are a couple of hotels and a few rooms.
