Cicagna is one of the main villages of the Fontanabuona valley, the slate valley: for centuries its quarries have produced the black stone used for roofs, floors and billiard tables around the world. The «Via della pietra nera» ecomuseum takes you to discover quarries and workshops.

Another curiosity is the Monleone suspension bridge over the Lavagna stream. The patron saint is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June.
