Lorsica is a small municipality in the Fontanabuona valley famous for its damasks: silk damask is still woven by hand here on old looms, as it once was for churches and noble palaces. There are also slate quarries in the area; the town hall is in the hamlet of Figarolo.

To stay there is a room to rent and a mountain hut. The patron saint is Saint Catherine of Genoa, celebrated on 15 September.
